From Peterborough

Haconby is served from Peterborough by the service connecting to Morton, our neighbouring village. It is a short walk or cycle from here to Haconby, or alternatively we can arrange collection from the bus stop.

Delaine 101/102: Peterborough – The Deepings – Bourne – Morton (hourly)

This route also operates a more frequent half-hourly service terminating in Bourne (our nearest town) and we can arrange collection from the bus station there. Alternatively it is approximately a 15 minute bike ride if you have a folding bike.

From Stamford

There is no connecting route from Stamford to Haconby. However there is a route from Stamford to Bourne (our nearest town) and we can arrange collection from the bus station there. Alternatively it is approximately a 15 minute bike ride if you have a folding bike.

*At Stamford station there is no ground level access from the westbound platform (trains from Cambridge and Peterborough) after 12pm or on weekends. Bikes, buggies, etc. can only exit the station if carried over the pedestrian bridge.

Rail / Bus Interchange – Peterborough

  • From the station ticket hall turn right and then cross the station access road using the zebra crossing.
  • Cross the station access road again, continuing towards the multi-story car park.
  • Turn right after the car park and immediately access the pedestrian bridge to cross Bourges Boulevard dual carriageway.
  • Enter Queensgate Shopping Centre and follow the signs to access the bus station immediately after entering.

Rail / Bus Interchange – Stamford

  • From the station forecourt proceed straight ahead on to Gresley Drive and follow the road until you reach the junction with the car park on your left.
  • Turn left and walk across the bridge on to the Meadows. Follow the path across the Meadows, exiting across the second bridge.
  • Continue up Castle Dyke, the road directly in front of you, and at the top turn left up the bus station access ramp.

Cross Country Trains Cycle Policy

You can take your bike free of charge on Cross Country services. You are advised to reserve a bike space before you travel. Bike reservations are free and can be made by calling 0844 811 0124.

All Cross Country trains have two reservable bike spaces. Bikes for which no reservation has been made will be accepted on a first come, first served basis and can only be carried subject to space being available.

If you have a folding bike, you can carry these as normal hand luggage.

From Bourne Bus Station

Cycling time approx. 15-20 minutes.

  • Exit the bus station to on A15/North Street, turning left.
  • Continue straight over the two mini roundabouts (keeping the Tesco petrol station on your left hand side).
  • Continue straight along what is now A15/North Road to exit Bourne.
  • Continue straight along the A15 for approx. 2 miles until you reach Morton crossroads. (Note you can utilise the pathway alongside the road from Bourne to Morton if you prefer to be off-road).
  • Turn right on to High Street.
  • At the green in front of the St John the Baptist Church bear left and turn in to Hacconby Lane.
  • Continue along Hacconby Lane to exit Morton, enjoying the fenland views as you continue to Haconby.
  • After entering Haconby follow the lane (now called Hall Road) round to the left, continuing to the Hare & Hounds public house at the T-junction.
  • Turn right on to Main Street. Very shortly thereafter, at the junction marked by the large tree, bear right down Church Street.
  • The Smarter Choice Consultancy is located on the right hand side at number 6a – accessed via the gravel driveway immediately after number 6.

  • Turn right on to Main Street. Very shortly thereafter, at the junction marked by the large tree, bear right down Church Street.
